Social Media Schweizer Armee

In my position as social media manager in the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS), I have created many different types of content for the Swiss Army’s social media accounts. Image and video production, editing, graphic design, animations, UI/UX design, websites and even podcast management are part of my daily business. Social media tasks like monitoring and community management with followers as well as coordination with translation into four languages are also part of my job.

Alpkultur für mich

This project was the last group project of my studies in media engineering. The whole class went to the high valley of Simmental and each group had different customers from different industries. Our group was in charge of a small town store that sells local goods and food from producers in the area. Together with the owner, we discussed solutions for shipping their products to other parts of the region via a web shop. Our task was to design and develop a system that the producers could later use for their needs. So we decided to make a WordPress site and created graphics and photos for that site so that someone else could later reproduce the process.

Guiseppe Gabellone

In my studies to become a media engineer, we had to take part in a module called „Visualize“. In the first semester, we were given the assignment of creating a folding poster. Part of the assignment was to develop our own typeface based on an artist and their artwork. In addition, we had to do research on the artist and their work, as the back of the poster had to be a flyer of sorts for a fictional exhibition. I was very „lucky“ with my artist because his name is Guiseppe Gabellone and it consists of 18 letters.

1st Greyhound Race Berne

In our collage’s design module, we had the task of creating various communication elements for an imaginary greyhound race in Bern. From logo to posters to banners and an app UI-design, we had to develop a clear and consistent design language. With a lot of freedom, I was able to create the „bear greyound“, which stands for the heraldic animal of the city and the fast and smooth nature of a greyhound.

Pere/Faran/Varn/Fahren

For an entrance examination, I had to complete the following task: Designing a poster, a leporello and a flyer on the topic of “FAHREN”, the German word for driving or traveling. After doing some research on the origin of the word, I found that the word has a broad connection to migration. From the Indo-German word for driving a boat to the Gothic word “Faran” which expressed, for example, people who were on foot and in search of a new home. Given the current events in the world at that time, I then tried to deal with this complex topic.

Reverse

This short movie was the first film project I made during my studies to become a multimedia engineer at the Bern University of Applied Sciences. Together with two fellows students from my college and a lot of people who volunteered to help, we created some sort of dystopia mixed with personal daily struggles like getting up in the morning. The protagonist, on his way to work, realizes that everyone around him is… no spoilers! We also had to create all the logos ourselves, had to do some cover artwork, and a documentary that sums it all up.

Ayurvedapraxis Katharina Gusset

The website for Katharina Gusset, an Ayurvedic masseuse based in Bern, was my first own professional experience in building and maintaining a website. The task included to design some elements that had to be in the same style as the already existing logo. From time to time some adjustments to the functionality and print products like flyers or banners were added to the project.

A wedding feast

My big sister’s wedding in 2015 had to be perfect, as all weddings should actually be titled (someone once told me). Still, it was a big effort and so I tackled the task of designing all the things that needed to be printed, like invitations, save-the-date letters and even the menu card.

CLB Treuhand

In this project, I was lucky enough to not only build a web presence, but also create a complete corporate design. The company is a start-up that successfully operates in the finance and real estate business. The challenge was to find the right colors, style and visual messages to meet the needs of a fiduciary and his clients.
